Default Fair Price For Dealer Install Of Level Kit?

Spoke to two local Ford dealers about installing my new Autospring 2.5" front level with 3" rear blocks. First one said no way and they only install authorized parts. Went into second dealer and he said no problem and they install them frequently. Quoted me $425 for install and alignment. My buddy who is a mechanic was going to charge me $200 without alignment and then I would pay local place about $75 for that. I figured that for the extra $150 would be better to have the stealership install it in case of any possible future warranty issues since they did the install. Is the $425 a fair price?

I would say do it at the dealer. Paying the xtra 150$ sucks BUT at least if anything goes wrong down the road, which that is unlikely, your ***'ll be covered. I paid 375$ for my 2.5'' and 1'' block without alignment at a regular shop. It's really up to you and if you want that peace of mind having known the dealer did it and won't void any warranty. Hope that helped.

That's about $150 to 200 buck's over the normal price but look at it as insurance in case any problem's arise later.

I also hope the dealership mechanics know certain things like disconnecting the battery to avoid risking damage to the epas system.

Over normal price? Normal price from a dealership or normal price from regular shop?

And dealer said $80 of it was for alignment. So they are basically charging me about $345 for the install of the kit. Guess I would rather pay a little extra for peace of mind and fact they should know the specs of the truck better than anyone. "Should" being the key word

You dont want to do it yourself and save the cash? You could almost have a tuner/programmer for that price.

There are a bunch of tools I would have to buy for the install that I don't have. By time I bought those and more than likely mess something up I would much rather pay to have it done. And I have no interest in a tuner on a brand new ecoboost truck.
