Default Fair Opinions Please

I had a small problem. I caused a small dimple in the sidewall of the bed of my truck and it bugs me. OK, so I thought, since I transport furniture often I really need a tie down point at the front stake (thats where the dimple is)

I never really liked any of the stake hole plug type anchors so I have been delaying.

Well after this tiny mishap and thinking I could cover it...I found a fancy (made for boats) cleat that is the shape of the Ford emblem and it is nice enough (IMHO) to have on the side of my truck.

So I plan on mounting this, I will post pics after installation.

What say you

Flame suit on!

If it's strong enough, should work.

I actually liked the older flare-side box F150s that had 3 cleats on each side. I say go for it!

OK, I finally got brave enough to drill holes and mount these things. Im happy, I think they dress up the truck and I know I will use them. Some will say "you drilled holes in yer truck!!!!!" I know, but I like them better than any stake hole anchor.

how is it secured? I know when installing on boats you usually put a piece of wood behind the panel with bolts holding it, to help spread the weight around
