My 13 STX has the factory liner. It has a sandpaper like finish and texture. I can't speak on it's durability just yet as the truck is only 2 weeks old. It sits outside as well.
That seems to be the difference, the rubbery feel to Line-X. Some like it others don't. Depends on what you are doing with your truck.

Like I said, taking stone and dirt out with my loader (scraping at times) never did any damage.(factory spray) The only time I scratched it was dragging out my box blade one of the teeth dug in and took out a gouge. (Sure it would have done the same with Line-X, or worse with its texture) The factory was thicker than I though because it still didn't get down to the metal.

I had Line-X on my 2012. My 2013 had the factory liner already on it.

The factory liner is the one thing I am disappointed in with this truck. The Line-X is thicker more rubbery and the color didn't fade over the year that I had it. The factory liner has already faded in the first six months of owning it. I would save the money and put the Line-X in. Also Line-X did my tailgate which the factory did not do.

I'd be after the dealer then if the factory didn't do your tail gate.

Mine was done, in fact they removed screws so they wouldn't get coated making the access panel... in accessible.

Honestly I'll probably end up taking it to get Line-X'd. The factory spray in is obviously not up to my standards.
