Factory spray in liner
#42
Guess what--that is not a factory liner then. Either the dealer up & did not order the truck correctly or this was before they were applying them at the factory--which they do now--& is all that needs to be discussed here.
I have one--they are off loaded at the dealer from the transporter with it done--the dealer does nothing. Also as mentioned the truck goes through the assembly line then is taken to a spereate area to have the bed liner applied. As mentioned they go over the bed bolts & it has a Line-X type look & feel to it but that does not mean I am saying it is Line-X, based on what I read its probably Toff but unless someone who sprays the **** at Ford chimes in its all hearsay.
I ordered my truck, saw the dealer's internal paperwork that monitored the status of the truck. After it was built it was sent to the Ford factory "body shop" where the liner is applied as shown in the video--thanks to the guy who posted that. All done in the same facility, with the same product, by the same people (& robot), with the same procedure---THAT is the FACTORY liner. Nothing else.

OK update, I'm not super happy with the Factory Spray in Liner... They do spray over the bed bolts and tie downs... Looks good but will hope I never have to have the bed adjusted or removed for body work.

I have been reading through these posts and have just been shaking my head, at some of what, is being offered up.
If you factory order, or buy off the lot, and the Spray-in Bed Liner, is included on the factory listing of "Optional Equipment", on the factory/federal window sticker, similar to options such as Nav, Moonroof, or HD Tow; then--it was applied at the factory. End of story.
Furthermore, I would not put much credence in indirect, hearsay observations, about what 'others' may have experienced.
I live in a highly populated city/county, and I know few who have even ordered the factory liner--let alone any, who have offered up, or complained, that they did order it; however, the factory, through their oversight, didn't apply it and they had to wait for the local dealer to send it out to a local shop.
Note: If this were occurring on a regular basis, dealers and customers alike, would be screaming. The dealer just wants to keep the 'metal' moving and does not want to have a kink in the process, wherein they have to send trucks out to a jobber, after they unload it off the auto hauler--especially on a customer factory order; in this instance, they want to deliver the truck and complete the process asap!
When I trade my '09, on my next new truck, I will order the factory liner, to keep things simple. Moreover, I fully expect, that when I watch my new truck roll off the auto hauler at the dealer, and look into the bed, it will already have the liner applied. Likewise, when I lift the hood, I am sure the optional EB I will have ordered, will be there too; and that I will not have to wait for the dealer to install it.

I do like mine so far. I did install a bedrug liner over the bottom to keep things moving around.

Having my liner installed on Monday. The dealer needs two days because they do it in their own body shop. Picking it up Tuesday evening. Will let you know how it turns out.
