factory navigation

Ok so i bought my truck a few weeks ago and got the xlt screw. I wanted to get it with navigation but they told me there was no option for nav in the xlt yet. Does anyone know if i can just get the nav unit from another truck and install it? or if they sell them anywhere? any information will help..i would much rather have the factory nav than an aftermarket.

thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't. All you need is the unit, a power source and an antenna right?

Should be some info out there. I would be concerned with the finished look more than anything.

Congrats on the new truck. Go get it muddy and scratched up so you can enjoy it.

The dash isn't the same in the XLT either. You would need the aftermarket panel for nav as well, and I'm not sure if the factory nav fits in that.. You would probably be better off to go aftermarket at this point, that's what I did in this case.

I'd just go with an aftermarket nav unit - if you just want GPS, you can get that on the cheap. Even if you could buy the nav unit itself, I bet it would be horrifically overpriced and would take a ton of hacking to get all the features working.

I talked to the after market parts guy at my local dealership and he said that it was not available yet, but is going to be available soon. He said it would probably be 1500-1900 installed.

I want it too. I want the rear view camera and navigation.

That kind of blows my mind, considering that it's nearly $2500 to have it as an option on a new vehicle... or would it be JUST the navigation, not the DVD player/etc. I would imagine you either get all or nothing.

I have 2013 f150 xlt screw 4x4 Lariat 3800 miles. The sync turn by turn navigation is terrible. Road trip from GA to Cape May NJ was 2 hours shorter on my 8 year old Garmin. Just get an after market.

Garmin sucks compared to the factory system which is way more than just nav but Garmin is nice for if you want to use it in multiple vehicles.
