Can you describe exactly what you did to make this work? I have a dealership willing to go the extra mile for me on this issue, but I'm told that after they tried updating my truck the new setting "won't take".

Do you have any info I can forward to them? Version of IDS you used? Steps you took? Year/Model/options of a vehicle you've confirmed it done on? Any help would be *hugely* appreciated.

Cheers

While we are on the subject... I am going to attempt to make this work next week hopefully. The dealer that I took it to said it was not possible to do this. My BCM has a 5 digit number on the front that is visible when the kick panel is removed. No 5 digit number on the back. I can only assume this is the unlock code? 2012 XLT regular cab. Door handle with keypad is installed and plugged in. The lights work.

Scratching my head on this also, the sales man gave me a card with the "5 digit keypad code" for my XLT and I assumed it had the keypad but when got home and went to try it found out my truck had no keypad. I was going to call the dealer and ask WTF but checked the 12' build site and the keypad is a 75$ option on XLT trucks. No "keypad" on my window sticker OR truck but I came with "code card" like previous keypad vehicles I've owned. I wonder if it's activated and just needs the pad added?

I did not receive a card with the code on it. I have installed the keypad and it does not work. I plan to follow the instructions here to see if it will. My question is that I am told the 5 digit number is on the back of the BCM. I could only find one on the front and it is !@#$%L. Given the letter at the end I am wondering if this is the code. I guess I will find out this week if all goes to plan.

every truck is issued a key code card whether you have the pad or not.

Great info EcoBoostXLT, I've been looking long and hard for this detail. I have a appointment scheduled with dealership next week!

Got it back from the dealership and it works great. They pretty much just followed the instructions from EcoBoostXLT, they did have to go through all 40+ blocks on the BCM so they hit me with a couple hours of labor charge, worth every penny.
