Default EcoBoost Fuel Economy Guage....

I have a 2011 FX4 EB Screw. The instrument cluster Avg Mpg guage doesnt seem to be acting right, in my opinion anyhow. I can reset it and it will go to like 13 mpg, stay there for a day or two, then if I have a day where I run the truck harder than normal, the economy goes down, which is going to happpen. My issue is, say it goes down to 11.5, well no matter how easy I run the truck it will not climb back up at all, even after 2 or 3 days of easy running. Anyone experienced this?? Maybe it is supposed to be this way??

I think the best thing you can do is compare it to the tried and true method hand calculation.

does it matter if your gauge reads 11.5 or 13? I dont even use the mpg gauge. it will just make you worry. you know your truck gets a certain mpg range and just call it a day.

Well I just found out something new. I was also having issues with my miles to empty. I dont rely on all that info on the LCD screen, but at the same time why put it there is its not meant to be used. Of course I do realize it is not 100% accuate. But I got worried when mine went down and never came back up at all. What I found out is that there is a TSB through Ford for a Cluster re-program for same issues I am having. So i will find out soon i guess.
