Exclamation F150 Max Trailer Height

My buddy told me that he heard from a reliable person that the FX4 can't tow a travel trailer higher than 8 foot or so. I plan on towing a travel trailer over 8 foot so I need to make sure I'm able to do this. I've never heard of this and couldn't find anything on the internet and don't really believe it but I wanna make sure.

Tell him it's okay cause you're getting a lift kit.

There is a warning in the load/towing section of the manual about trailer frontal area and reduced load capacity. But the details are fuzzy

I call BS. I am towing a 32ft TT 6500lbs 10-11ft high. 3.73 Eccoboost. Pulls awesome. I have seen a 5.4L pulling a fifth wheel and they are even taller.

+1

The frontal area recommendations are based upon the engine choice and gearing. Weight of the trailer is obviously a factor for accelerating, braking, and turning, as well as stability.

Frontal area is Just as important due to the wind resistance caused by the frontal area at freeway speeds.

Does height by itself matter, no, at least it does not other than legal requirements and bridge / overpass heights.

Does frontal area matter - absolutely, and anyone who thinks it does not matter is simply ignorant, and I would HIGHLY recommend any towing advice they might provide.

Be safe and have fun.

I didn't think that height had anything to do with it but before I bought my truck I test drove a chevy and the salesman told me that the ecoboost can't tow anything higher than the truck and I thought it was total b.s. until my buddy told me this. It made me second guess lol. That makes sense that aerodynamics are more important factor than height
