I think most people haven't changed their springs from stock.
I can chime in that my stock springs started to sag after 52k miles.
But I also have a giant winch bumper and winch on the front. SO they're under a bit mosre stress than average.

Where did you find the spring codes? I can check mine tonight just to see what they are. I am guessing they are one of the lighter ones.

I was also under the impression there was alot more spring combinations that just 2.

It's on the lower right corner of the driver door sticker. Says SPR and will be formatted like this VVGG. That's what I've got but I know there's also UUAA, UUGG, etc. First two characters are front coil codes, second two characters are rear springs.

That's one of the biggest problems with Bilsteins: that you don't change the coil springs. The coil springs are one of the bigger problems with OEM suspensions (over sprung and under dampened). While the Bilsteins will yield a slight improvement, you won't really understand what good suspension is until you swap out the springs too. That's why most guys just swap out the entire coilovers.

I wouldn't say most as that's a $800+ investment not including labor if one chooses to pay. :P

I apologize; you're right. I should have been more specific...

"...most guys - who are interested in vastly superior suspension performance - just swap out the entire coilovers."

Better?

In case anyone cares, I got my bilsteins installed. At the 1.5" setting with the VV spring code I got about 1.75" height gain at the top of the wheel arch.

Not that it is applicable to me, but for clarification you might want to include the weight details about your truck
Such as wheelbase, cab configuration, trim level, engine, and 4x4 status when you give a height increase.

Additionally whther you have an aftermarket bumper and / or winch installed

Didn't include info you mentioned since I was OP and most of that info was given up front in the thread. "I've got V code coils on my '13 FX4 crew eco "145". I'm not sure what the GVWR is with the V coils but I can tell you I netted more than the advertised 1.5" at the second from top setting. No aftermarket bumper, winch, etc. Front end is stock in terms of weight. BTW the truck has about 60k on it in case you were wondering about potential for spring sag due to age.

Just wanted to get my results out there so all things being the same, someone else might have a better idea what to expect. I hadn't come across a lot of real world height gains posted including info on spring rate or weight rating used in combo with the 5100 which is why I brought up the topic in the first place.

Thanks. It helps future searches for information to not have to scroll through the whole thread to get the relevant data. That's the only reason I mentioned it. So many times when I was looking for an answer I would find parts in one post, parts in another post, and it takes forever to search for it. Just trying to speed things up..

My stock springs at less than 60k were sagging, but I've got the heavy aftermarket bumper and winch. Also they were controlling 35's, which the wheel and tire combo weighs around a hindred each. That's alot of energy for the spring to handle. I am actually surpirsed the stock front shocks were still good So it was kinda expected. Just for reference.

Way late to this thread but wanted to add to it since I found it via google...

I have done some research and found the following info about spring codes and the model/engine/drive type/size etc. below:

Story in short:

Front spring codes for a 4x4 truck vary from lightest -U (light weight vehicles, low model lariat, low model xlt, xl), -V (heavier optioned trucks, FX4, some xlt, platinum/limited), -X (6.2l non luxury/non platinum/non limited), -Y (heavy duty high payload 7 lug truck) to heaviest

Rear spring codes for a 4x4 truck vary from -A (lightest weight, 3700 axle weight?), -J (3950 axle weight?), to -D (heaviest payload, HDHP 7 lug).

Cant help you with a 4x2 spring code. No research done on those.

My 2013 Lariat 4x4 supercab 5.0 has the
4L34 5310 UA L/F COIL
CL34-5560-A* R/R LEAF SPRINGS

While my dad's former 2013 xlt 4x4 supercab 5.0 has the
4L34 5310 VA L/F COIL
CL34-5560-J* R/R LEAF SPRINGS

Here are other ones I found for sale and used the VIN to compare....
