Oil change with lift?
Anyone with a 4 or 6 inch lift have any tricks when changing the oil filter during an oil change? I have a 6 inch lift on mine and have to whip out the step ladder, and i'm still hanging in the engine like a monkey....there were a few times i almost ended up IN the engine.
the only good thing is i dont have to jack it up at all to drain the oil

Haha! That was a good mental polaroid...
My off road lights give me the biggest reach issue since they push me off the front bumper about 5-6" standing in front of the truck combined with my level lift. When I need to reach all the way to the back of the engine bay I step into the area between the bumper and the radiator and stand on the frame itself but usually I can reach being 6'5". See if using the frame as a standpoint works for you...

Thanks I'm going to try that! you'd think that since we have some hieght it would make it easier...i'm 6'4 and usually never have issues with things like this...but this last oil change i was swearing to myself while i was ripping up my arm trying to get the new filter lined up to screw back on! Talk about a juggling act...one foot still on the ladder...one arm propping myself up by the engine while the other foot was in the air balancing my whole body, and the last hand was trying to find the damn area to screw the filter to!!
I felt like a circus bear...I have to look again if its possible to go in straight from the front if you remove some of that rubber stuff next to the radiator...
