I've heard of others wanting to control the bass with a control ****...but honestly, I simply use the settings on the head unit....and I've got it set at -1 !
I do NOT need any more bass.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm more than pleased with the set up I have now.
Do you have a link on this upgrade?... And what is all accomplished with doing it? (Again, there is Bass settings that can be controlled on the head unit...Why do I need to wire, install a ****, and then fiddle with a ****?)
Always interested in doing mods & changing things, & not afraid to spend any money, especially if the results are well worth it.... I'm just having a hard time justifying adding a **** and another amp when there is already so much bass from the kicker sub, that even at +2, it is too much bass.

What I did was add a 400 watts amp to the sub. The Kicker amp is 200 watts and the sub can handle 400 watts. Here's the link

Don't get me wrong I really was impressed with how the Kicker amp. I just wanted a little more plus like having to adjust bass on the fly easier with ****. Also I like moddings things too

Ok, gotcha...
Understood & another option to add even more bass to those who even want more!
400 watts to that Kicker will definitely be thumping!

I just got all new sony component speakers put in my 2014 STX and with the stock HU it did not do the speakers justice AT ALL. I went back to the place where I got them installed and had them install the Alpine PowerPack which is 45Wx4 and wow did it make a difference! For keeping the factory look and not having to deal with a big amp, the PowerPack was a great choice for me and it only cost me $150 with install so highly suggest getting the PowerPack.

It may not impress the younger guys who want the volume & the thump heard from a mile a way... but for the price, it IS THAT good!
For the ones who want stereo competition quality should go a different route and open the wallet wide. (been there - done that).
I had a Superduty with a JL audio Stealth box, replacement speakers, replaced a new head unit and had over $1500 invested in it.... This KICKER gives me the SAME results and less than $400.00 !
You won't be disappointed brother!

You're right. 75% of the day is sports radio, then add a couple songs. Then I end up feeling unsatisfied, so back to talk, because I'm not getting what I need.
Some days are all tunes, and it/I need more oomph.
I've had a lot of systems, that could make your ears implode. I don't need that, anymore.
I think $400 bucks is right where I'm at now.

I added a small 50W Clarion Amp, 4 Alpine Door Speakers and a Alpine Powered Sub that I was able to mount behind the seat of my Screw.
It Cost a little more than the Kicker setup but I didn't loose any room in the back seat floor area. Sound is superb. I would do it all again in a second. Got it all from Crutchfield.

I replaced my crap Sony speakers with some basic kicker cs68s(practically free). I want to get an amp and hook it to them but don't wanna break the bank. I already have a 1200 watt hifonics Brutus amp that I'm gonna use for subs. Just gotta decide if I wanna run 4 8s under the rear seat facing forward or just do 2 10s down firing in a fox box.

I put a Soundstream Stealth ST4.1000 behind my dash. I used the Parrot in-line harness to splice it into the factory harness. It's powering a set of Apline SPS517s (severely lacking). I think I'm going to switch out to my older Kickers and see how they do. The Alpines don't seem to be able to handle the power of the Stealth. It's not doing anywhere near the advertised 90w/ch (it's only got a 30a fuse), but my passenger side speaker is staticy and my driver's side thumps on bass hits sometimes, like it's hitting the extent of it's movement.
