F-150 Audio System
Just bought a 2013 F-150 Scab. I took the Pioneer 4-way speakers outta my 03 and put them in here. The speakers were great in my old truck, but I also had the Pioneer head unit. My new truck has the Sync media and I don't want to get rid of the factory look, but is the factory head unit really that crappy for volume, and am I gonna have to buy a 4 channel amp to boot the sound out of my Pioneer speakers?

to maximize performance, you *almost always* need an amp to push the speakers. Sometimes you can get away without an additional amp if the speakers you are using have a higher sensitivity rating. at least that is my understanding

If you are looking for the amp only, post in the classified, someone might have bought the kicker system and not installed the amp.

Depends on your speakers! Usually at or slightly above theyre reccommended rms rating!
So if theyre rms watts is 75w, you want a amp 50-100w x 4 ch.

Even the MFT setup sounds good at max volume. Unfortunately that max volume is ****...
More power is a necessary mod. I still haven't gotten to it 9 months later, and it frustrates me at least twice a day.
Soon though, the Kicker upgrade at the very least.

The Kicker upgrade is quite impressive!
I always felt the same way & Kicker gave me EXACTLY what I was lacking.
It may not impress the younger guys who want the volume & the thump heard from a mile a way... but for the price, it IS THAT good!
For the ones who want stereo competition quality should go a different route and open the wallet wide. (been there - done that).
I had a Superduty with a JL audio Stealth box, replacement speakers, replaced a new head unit and had over $1500 invested in it.... This KICKER gives me the SAME results and less than $400.00 !
You won't be disappointed brother!
