Those look awesome! Since I don't have a mill, can I ask are the slots necessary? Won't just drilling holes accomplish the same thing? Also, you only moved yours out an inch? Others are moving the boards out from the inside home to the outside hole, how far is that?

Thanks! I don't think the slots are necessary, they just make alignment easier and that's how the factory pattern was. Just drilling holes out will work as well, just use a punch or pilot hole so that your drill bit won't walk. Yes, my pattern only moved them out 1 inch. I would not recommend pushing them out as far as the spacing between the factory holes...that's about 3". If you want to move them more than 2" you really should make an entirely new bracket otherwise the stock brackets will likely bend or break.

F-150 Running Board Fix
Here is my solution to the "too high and too tight" running boards. Pictures show a 'before' and 'after' as well as the plates, plates installed on the factory brackets. My desire was to lower the boards two inches and bring them out the same. They are very solid and give you room for winter boots and safe entry and exit. Plates were make from 1/4 aluminum stock.
