I have gotten so many compliments on my truck and LEDs in the last couple of weeks. Love this forum.

I think the year might have something to do with it. I have a '14 Lariat and I would have had to use 8 brackets.

Now that the weather has gotten nicer I have been able to was my truck by hand, and I have noticed that it's a lot easier to clean the running boards now that I have exstended them. I use the soft bristle on my running boards and it doesn't quite fit between the truck and the boards. Love this mod.

Default waterboards

Props to waterboy. I took his idea plus some tooth prints in my passenger seat from a misstep on the wife's part and cooked some up last weekend. I used flat steel and like the functionality. There is a spooky amount t of flex and I think my front drivers side bracket is bent so this is gonna get a review today and probably replaced with angle iron and some shims.
while I had the running boards off I pried up the black slats and dipped them red (the can said it helps with traction). This looks pretty good IMHO and has generated compliments from the wife, coworkers and random guys at home depot. The dip seems to help a bit with wet grip but is peeling g after a week. I have some pics to post when not tied to a tablet.
I have also had several people request a set for up to $100. I call them my waterboards in homage to the engineer, waterboy, as well as the sheer redneck of it all.
Thanks again guys.

I have been planning on putting some grip tape on the boards for a while, but since I exstended them they aren't quite as slippery as they were because I can get a better footing. I just don't know how the grip tape is going to look and hold up.

Lucky! I feel like the running boards are a part of what makes my truck look great. I know the retractable boards give it a clean look, but I can't help but feel like there is something missing.

Got my brackets all done also. I used same setup as ecopat except mine are. 7 1/2 inches long. So much better now.
