They are not "too good to be true". I had a flood ford purchased ESP on my '11, when I traded that in, i cancelled the policy, had a refund check from Flood within the week and I had used the "rental car" portion of the warranty on a previous repair. When I purchased my '13, I told finance guy what i paid with flood and wasn't going to be snowed. So he gave me "right" price on the new warranty.

sometimes they DON'T make any money, but I am sure they get some kind of "kickback" at the end of the month based on how many ESP's they sell.
you know that the finance guy at a dealer in person can sell it for what he really wants to if online dealers can. But depends on if he WANTS to.
