Question Extended Warranty for '11 Ecoboost

Hey, got a couple questions on a Ford warranty. I just bought an 11 Supercab 4x4 EB with 13k miles..

Is there a difference in price of the ext. warranty if I would purchase it now at 13k or if I wait till just before it expires and purchase it at say 35k miles?

I was looking to get the Premium warranty that covers 500+ parts, anyone have any good or bad experiences with coverage under this plan?

Thanks Mark

I am not sure about price. However, I would definitely purchase extended warranty. There are different companies that will sell you warranty however I prefer Fords. I have not had to use mine but do someone that has. He had a serious motor issue and they ended replacing his motor. There is a deductible I believe it s 500 bucks. So purchased the basic 500 this covers the major expensive components. Remember anything under your deductible is really on you.

MBM, the more miles, and age on the truck equals higher price. I don't know how much though. The best prices can be found online at dealers like Zeigler Ford, Flood Ford, and several others. I googled Ford ESP, and several popped up. Check them all as they change their prices from time to time. When I bought mine Flood Ford was the cheapest, and the transaction was very smooth. These are he same ESP plans you buy from your dealer. I would suggest you stay with the genuine Ford ESP as the third party are more trouble than you save in my opinion. Most all of the third party plans require you or the dealer report to them before service which could take to much time. With the Ford you just drive in any dealer in the Country, and they take care of you right away. Hope this helps.

There is a price increase if the truck is +12mos/+12,000 miles.

As I recall when I bought mine, just comparing, it was $100 MORE for each $12000 miles.

So, since you have only 13K on it, it would only be $100 more than if you bought it at delivery.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I am doing the ford esp for sure not the 3rd party. It also looks like you pay more for an ecoboost/turbocharger.

It depends. Keep looking. Some don't ask. Not sure how it affects price though.
