mirrors should still work, I believe I disconnected the driver side (wishing passenger side after the fact so light still lit up but there’s a baby seat there) and mine still defrost the mirrors when pushed

Yep, right under the window in mine. You can follow the wire back to verify. There's another one nearby, which looks like it heads to airbags or something. Make sure you look at everything.

Bumping an old thread for answers.

i found a video in a thread related about this, it said created a jumper using two female connectors and some wire. I did that but i originally just disconnected the ground and a yellow wire on the passenger side. They were taped up but now i dunno where they connect to. They have female connectors of different sizes. Any help so i can plug them in. They are attached to one side of the connector i jumped.

Edit: i drove to work, the light on the dash finally comes on after it being done “properly”. The window opens and closes, as it should. Ill find out with a frost soon

I found the male connectors in the corner of the window. Once i saw them i realized what exactly i did 3-4 years ago. Connected them again but i am running the jumper. I just didnt want hanging wires even if they were disconnected. Works like OEM without smashy smashy

I just disconnected the spade connector on the driver's side then wrapped it in shrink wrap - i'm guessing i'll be missing an indicator light somewhere then? (never used rear defrost as i saw this problem before i bought the truck)

That you would see if 1. You left it connected or 2. If you made a jumper.
