I show three wires to the rear window defrost. Brown with a yellow stripe is power from the relay in the battery junction box under the hood (12ga). White with an orange stripe that is for the indicator light (20ga), and the ground.
My truck is a 2011. Ford seems to change wire colors every year.

I am not sure Ford really has a fix for these. I leave my fuse out for this so that I never have a blown out window, or fire.

I finally talked to the window people who installed my rear window. I asked if it is factory glass as it looks different. He said yes (and it is marked FOMOCO), they redesigned it so it wouldn't happen again. Tinting and everything looks good but the defroster just looks cheaper for some reason. I am no mechanic or engineer though.

Whats worse is that there will be no action taken against the mechanic for his ineptness! The service rider should be held accountable also!
