You could try goo gone.

That stuff was all over the outside of the truck we cleaned off at the dealer. The window was so smeared we didn't notice the other stuff as I just wanted to get the heck out of there before I let my profession get the better of me.

The stuff on the inside is clear and is smeared. One side it looks like it was attempted to be removed with a tool the other has a glob and looks like they wiped it with a rag and smeared it.

On another note, I HOPE EVERYONE IS REPORTING THESE INCEDENTS TO THE NHTSB!

This will be one of the ways to force Ford into fixing this problem without hassle to the loyal owners of their products.

Looking into getting a used 2013 f150 eventually. After reading this I'm going to put tape on the defroster switch so I don't use. Doesn't the defroster also powers the heated side mirrors if it's equipped with it?

I could be wrong but i think this problem has to do with Remote Start..... I went all last winter with zero degrees with out RS... just got RS around 1 month ago and BANG !!!!!

Why uglify your dash? Just unplug it at the window and tuck them outta the way. Mind you the button won't light up.

I'm not sure if the mirrors defrost now tho.

According to 2011 wiring diagram. The mirrors do defrost but the indicator light won't come on.

This is correct, I unplugged mine and the mirrors do still defrost.
Does that wiring diagram show what the thin yellow wire connected to the rear window is for, I still haven't been able to find out.
