Unrelated item on a Dodge product. I was able to get reimbursed for parts (with receipt) but they did not pay me for labor (my own labor).

Yes. Remove the back seat, trim panels and drop the head liner.

Total PITA.

You only have to remove the seat back not the whole seat.

Trim panels get removed, a couple plugs in headliner and that should be it.

That's all I did when I replaced mine but they may try to take out more stuff than needed.

When they did mine, I was suprised they left the window dirty and didn't clean it. Since it was warm the other day, I cleaned the window and found there is smears of glue (or whatever the sealed it with) on the inside of the window of course it is across the strands of the defroster. I tried to clean it off but didn't want to damage the defroster as I use it often and just had it/window fixed.

I called the dealer and he said the owner of the glass company would call me in an hour and eventually send someone out here to fix it. Since he normally would not go this far (over1hour away) he would make a special trip just for him. No call the whole day.

Not sure I want them even touching it after they put a scratch in the paint, they left back seat half reinstalled and left glue on the new window.

The last two times talking to the service manager about this problem, he basically said we need to confront the company about the issues. I explained to him "you contracted them and YOU are responsible for fixing it". He seemed shocked but since only their name is on my receipt, tag you are it.

Yes, you have to pull those panels that have the amps on them or at least unattach them. If I recall, the window come with a new motor and cables already attached and will have to mount motor and route new cables behind your amp panels.

Is it black? It's probably the old butyl from old window. When you pull it out that stuff gets all stringy and sticks to very thing!

You could try goo gone.
