All these folks are doing is filling in the online form, which you can do yourself.

Get real, these people are on here to put out the fires and make Ford look good.
Seems to me that Ford covers electrical issues with broken back light but not just the broken back light. So it depends on your dealer on how the warranty claim is submitted. Not to mention that the dealers get punished by Ford for "too many" warranty claims and the fact that the people turning wrenches make less money doing warranty work as opposed to doing regular repairs.
As for your question why Ford is not doing anything about this, cause like I said before on many threads like this, it takes lots of blood and many bodies and carnage on the streets for NHTSA to force any car maker to do a recall.

Hi M0RRIS,

Meagan, Chad, and I are members of Ford's Social Media team. We don't have access to engineering information, including repair procedures or the ability to approve warranty repairs. When customers have concerns, we act as liaisons to regional customer service managers - ensure that things are progressing, step in if you have any difficulty getting in touch with someone, and documenting feedback. If you have questions that are more technical in nature, including regarding upcoming repair information, your best point of contact is the service manager at your local dealership.

Thanks, Ncm86; I responded to your other thread as well. I'll be happy to look into this further. PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership; I'll start investigating ways to help.

So is someone looking into this issue. I live in North Dakota and am scared to turn on my rear defroster. Needless to say Insure would like to use the features that I paid for.

Hi 4dtrkman,

Just to clarify, are you experiencing any issues with your truck now? If you're concerned, you can always make an appointment at your dealership to have things looked over. As I mentioned above, we don't have access to our engineering department, so we can speak to any repair procedures, but I know your service manager would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Crystal,
Thank you for responding to this forum but the question everyone wants to know and knowone is answering is what is Ford doing to fix this defective product for people who have this defective glass in their vehicle? We know Ford is aware of the problem because they redesigned the glass. I don't think it's right that I have to take $800 + out of my own pocket due to an engineering flaw.

we can bitch and complain all we want (as we have a right due to the wide spread issue on these forums) but her, nor any of the social media team will know. all they'll do is pass your information along.

Hi Johnny136,

I can definitely understand your frustration. As I wrote above, we don't have access to repair or design information; your best resource for that is the service manager at your local Ford Dealership. Is your truck currently experiencing this concern? If so, pass along your model year/mileage.

Thanks!

Crystal
