Turn off the rear defrost option for remote start. Thats what I did, not like it works after it was replaced anyways.

Default 2012 F150 Shattered window

I just bought a 2012 F150 one month ago with less than 30,000 miles and the back window shattered. I have an extended bumper to bumper warranty and hope it will be covered. I have also read all over the internet that this is a common problem. I do not understand why Ford has not had a recall if it is happening in so many vehicles. I just read on another forum 7 people in less than 10 days experienced the same thing.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread yet, but this is common on MANY vehicles, not just our F150s. I heard some guys talking about how their windows have shattered due to the defroster getting too hot also. It has something to do with it heating up too fast and the temperature on the outside of the window.

Here's a google search showing lots of other brands affected by this:

Same reason they wont fix defective ac's, nothing requires them too and too many loopholes! As long as it only impacts a few and they have the fan base that says "not me", they never will!

FORD is not the same Ford of yesterday where they cared about customer satisfaction. Certianlly have bought my last and if the ac is not fixed when the weather warms, its BYE BYE!

Welcome to the forum, Karen! When are you heading in to the dealership to have this looked at? Let me know how your appointment goes; I'll be able to look into ways to help once you've had it diagnosed.

HAHA you are funny, Ford NEVER cared, none of them did or do.
Best that you can do is find a dealer (any brand) that cares about their customers and stick with him or her.

I disagree, but then again it is obvious that I am much older than you and remember when Ford did care about the customer and their service was meant to please.

Thanks

I doubt that you are older then me.
But since you are old then you should remember the famous class action lawsuits in the 70's and how Ford of old cared about its customers, nothing changed since then.
