Is it because the defroster is defective or you installed a glass without defrost?

Understand, what we dont know is, is it the initial glass being defective or does the defrost just get too hot? or what

My theory is that the window gets too hot. A short in the element?? It actually got as hot as 158 degrees.

Do you have another vehicle with a rear defroster to see how hot another manufacture's rear defroster gets?

This was the only area of the window that gets that hot. I tested the same window in numerous spots and it gets between 70 and 80 degrees, which I would think would be normal temperatures. Also, the heated mirrors are between 70 and 80 degrees.

Humm....

Is the breaking happening during the initial heatup of the window? Or after its been on and turned off?

Does it do it on both non and slider windows?
