Exploding rear window
Annoying as it is that you spend $40,000 on a truck and you have to disconnect wires in fear of the glass breaking, I'd rather do that than deal with another broken rear window. Especially with the kids riding back there.
Currently have a claim in with insurance company(progressive). They are having safelite do it as they said the dealer was too exspensive.

The exact type of story a news reporter would love to report on!
I went online it only indicates full unit replacement for over 500! Is that what they are doing to yours? or just an individual pane?
You have to replace the whole rear window. You cannot just replace the panes. My dealer quoted me over 1k. Went through insurance and cost $100. My defroster doesnt work at all now, which I dont even care about since I dont want to risk the window braking again and raining down on my son.
Does anyone know what the exact number for the fuse is on an '11 and up? I have a 2012, I checked the manual and the only place I see for the rear defroster is under high current fuses #32- rear window deforested relay power, heated mirror relay power. And fuse # 54- run/start, 4x4 module, backup lights, RSC/ABS, TT charge battery relay coil, rear window defroster relay coil.
I guess the rear defroster doesn't have it's own fuse now.

Ill be disabling mine before the cold hits.
Nope Relay:
Power distribution box
The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment. The power distribution box contains high-current fuses that protect your vehicle’s main electrical systems from overloads.
Relay - Protected Circuits
4 — Rear window defroster relay

i don't think you can pull the relay for just the rear defroster on a '12. The manual shows high current fuses #32- rear window deforested relay power, heated mirror relay power. And fuse # 54- run/start, 4x4 module, backup lights, RSC/ABS, TT charge battery relay coil, rear window defroster relay coil.
