This is what I was told by Ford Service.

Thanks for following up. I checked out your case and see that you've been in touch with our Customer Relationship Center (CRC). They determined that there aren't in programs in place to assist; unfortunately, I do not have the ability to escalate beyond their level. If you have any questions about the decision made in your case, you can contact the CRC at 1-800-392-3673.

Just happened to me 3/29. Sounded like a gunshot when it shattered. Ford was willing to cover 50% but my dealer is charging $1150 so it's still $575 out of pocket for pushing a little button. To the dealer's credit, they're going to try to work on the price after I mentioned $500-$800 for the repair bill from most guys that this happened to. It's still bull**** and I'm never buying another Ford product after their handling of this. I have 23,200 miles on the truck and it's out of warranty by 7 weeks. I can understand that it was out of warranty but I was 6 months out of warranty with my Toyota and they covered the TPMS on all 5 wheels when the aluminum stems corroded to the steel caps. KTM covered a camshaft that was designed wrong on a bike I was the 3rd owner of (and 4 yrs old at the time). That's what good companies do, stand behind their product. This is obviously a known issue that Ford won't acknowledge and not a company I will support. F 'em.

Default shattered rear window

Obviously Ford has a problem as there seems to be many with the same issues and Ford wants to take no responsibility. Just last week I had the same thing happen to my 2011 F-150 FX2.

Just happened to me. 2 weeks ago. Warming truck up. 31 degrees outside. Scraping wind shield off & Pop!!! Passenger rear window exploded. Truck only has 29,000 miles. $500 deductible with Geico. Called local Ford dealer were I purchased, no help warranty is up. Called Ford Motor Company & filed a complaint and started a case study. Ended up getting a 3 year 36,000 extended warranty for free. Better than nothing I guess.

Same thing just happened to me. 2010 Raptor. Temp outside is just barely below freezing and we had lots of snow. (Yes I know it is May. Gotta love Calgary weather.)

Turned on the defrost, was a few blocks from home and BANG! Took me a while to realize it was the rear window. Luckily it spider-webbed but stayed in place so I taped it up as best I can and will look to get it fixed next week.

I've used the rear defrost for 6 months out of the year for the past 3.5 years with temps as low as -40C so it blowing today was sure a surprise! Temp differential doesn't seem to have anything to do with the problem.
