I've got a 2014 and I want to disable this before it becomes an issue. What is the best way to keep it from happening?
Pull the fuse, unplug the harness behind the carpeted matt?

Anyone know what would be the best bet? (Sorry I didn't want to have to read through 35 pages) ADHD

I didn't see it but wife mentioned it to me. Apparently the abc affiliate news station in town (cleveland) ran a story Sunday about this issue on f150. Don't think it was much more than a 30 second thing but at least it's getting some attention!

Just got my truck back from the dealership. That was fast. They called me this morning and told me it was 100% covered, and i did stress the rear defroster being the cause but it seemed like they were familiar with it. No hassle, nice loaner, so happy not to have to pay.

They are mailing me the paperwork as i asked for a copy so ill post up numbers and what they claimed etc.

If you need a good dealership around Milwaukee Schmidt Ford in Thiensville hasnt let me down yet.

Just wanted to mention too that my truck is still under factory warranty.

They also washed my truck which i totally avoid during the winter up here, so that was a nice treat too.

really should not matter whether the truck has any warranty or not, this is not something that you created as a problem!
