Ford just came out with this today!


2011 F-150 WITH THE 3.5L OR 5.0L ENGINE AND 6R80 TRANSMISSION BUILT ON OR BETWEEN 2/1/2011 TO 4/1/2011 SHUDDER DURING 2-1 DOWNSHIFT 5-7MPH (8-11KPH)
SOME APPLICATIONS OF THE 2011 F-150 VEHICLES WITH THE 3.5L OR 5.0L ENGINE BUILT ON OR BETWEEN 02/1/2011 UNTIL 4/1/2011 MAY EXHIBIT A SHUDDER DURING A 2-1 COASTING DOWNSHIFT TYPICALLY FOUND AT SPEEDS OF 5-7 MPH (8-11KPH). USE IDS TO MONITOR FOLLOWING PIDS, IN_GEAR MODE,GEAR_RAT, VSS TO VERIFY IT IS THE 2-1 DOWNSHIFT. IF THE SHUDDER IS ONLY PRESENT ON THE 2-1 COASTING DOWNSHIFT REPLACE THE C-CLUTCH (INTERMEDIATE) FRICTION PLATES FOLLOWING WSM SECTION 307-01 AND USE AVAILABLE SERVICE LABOR TIME STANDARD OPERATIONS. any other tsb on the ecoboost or 2011 f150's in general?

got one on the rough idling at start up or the 3000 mile "break in"

Can someone describe the shutter - what exactly does it do/feel like?

well i experienced a hard kick between 2 and 1 once.....i wouldnt consider it a shudder. more of like i felt like i was rear ended.

Heres Another TSB on Ecoboost engines also just came out today.


2011 F-150 3.5L ECOBOOST - INTERMITTENT MISCELLANEOUS DTCS FOR UEGO SENSOR / TRANSMISSION
SOME 2011 F-150 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE MAY EXHIBIT AN INTERMITTENT MIL LIGHT WITH MISCELLANEOUS HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR BANK 1 OR TRANSMISSION DTCS, A LACK OF POWER COMPLAINT, OR SHIFT QUALITY ISSUES. INSPECT THE ENGINE HARNESS TAKEOUT FOR THE BANK 1 UEGO FOR A CHAFE CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION CASTING. IF WIRING CHAFE IS NOTED ON THE ENGINE HARNESS, REPAIR THE HARNESS AS PER ONLINE WIRING DIAGRAM (EVTM) SECTION 5 PAGES 5-8 AND WRAP THE HARNESS WITH CONVOLUTE. I experience the 2 to 1 downshift harshness.
Feels like a misplaced downshift, not quite a clunk, but not smooth.
I really wasn't worried about it.
Still not worried about it, but will talk to my service guy.

I feel the same. I'm not sure I want to lose the truck for a day or whatever, have the tranny cracked open, for a fix to something that hasn't been shown to hurt anything. Sometime the fix can introduce other problems in the future, either on all fixed vehicles, or on specific ones (where a mechanic did a boo-boo while doing the fix). I think I'll wait a while and see how things shake out.
