exhaust piping size change ?

So I have a 13 f150 5.0 and am considering deleting the resonator with an upgraded exhaust. My question is for people who have deleted it for a straight through 3"pipe did you notice any hp or mpg changes with it ? I'm not saying it is gonna be anything drastic but there's a reason ford must have made the 2.5" resonator piping that size before the 3" piping after the muffler.
No performance gains but it did sound sweet and was a straight bolt on.
Save your money unless you are doing it for a good wide open throttle sound alone

At this point I'm realizing I'm only doing it for sound and a little uniqueness with the dual instead of single exit exhaust, I've only seen one of the thousands of 2011+ f150s with a dual exhaust now.

Here's my 4" custom dual pipes with Borla muffler. I left resonator and flex pipe on. I like the sound. Not to loud. But nice growl.
