Exactly what is included in the 7200 GVWR package

Just bought a 2013 FX4 with the Ecoboost. Couldn't be happier. The window sticker says I have the 7200 GVWR package. I asked the salesman who is a friend what that included and he was clueless. Ford website is useless. I've tried to do some Internet searches and came up empty handed.

It seems that the package includes a 36 gallon gas tank and maybe some beefed up suspension to to raise the GVWR. Does it change the axel ratio?

Do you have 6 or 7 lug wheels?

Probably 3.15 gears.

I think that is the standard GVWR package. Max Tow gets approximately 7700 lb GVWR, and the HD Payload gets the 8200 lb GVWR.

That's just the GVWR for the package you have. It's a combination of engine, gearing and wheelbase (for the most part, I'm leaving out some details I know). Adding the "Max Tow" package will typically add an additional 500lbs rating to the GVWR.

The ratings range anywhere from 6450Lbs (2WD Reg Cab) to 8200Lbs (HD Payload w/ 157" WB)

My FX4 is a 5.0 w/ 3.73's and no max tow, rated at 7300.
My XLT is an EB w/ 3.73's, Max Tow, HD Payload rated at 8200lbs.

If my truck has the 7700 LBS GVWR is there a way to get a Greatter GVWR?

Sure, but it requires a different truck.

i'm with candy red. I got my 2013 XLT 4X4 EB max trailer tow 6.5' bed and I told the guy i wanted the max payload also. Well turns out the 7700# GVWR isn't the max payload and i've looked on fords site and can't figure out how to get that. I don't see it as an option either. Is it like the F250 where they just put a different sticker on the door jamb for over 10,000# GVRW? I know it only a 500# difference but it would be nice to know if i'm going to over load the springs.

HD payload (8200#) is only available on 8' box standard/super cab and 6.5' crew cab trucks.

So you can't increase to HD Payload by upgrading your suspension, air bags, tires and axles?

I have the 6.5' Box with the Super Crew.
