Default Everyday Towing

Are there any owners out there that tow regularly? I am looking at an '09 FX4 and want to know if anyone advises (for or against) towing everyday with this truck. I will be towing a 7x14 cargo trailer weighing about 6,000 lbs. loaded. I know the capacity is 11,300. If you were towing 6,000 lbs 8 months out of the year, would you be comfortable with this, or should I go with a diesel? I really don't want the expense of a diesel, cost of purchase, maintenance, etc. However I don't want to under buy on my truck. Thanks for the input.

Default Anyone???

I'm looking for non-biased opinions on tow capacity in real life. My friends say get a pre-owned diesel, the dealer says that's overkill...get a new F150. Thanks for any input ><>

If I were towing that load that frequently, I'd seriously consider a diesel.

My 09 F150 is a great tow vehicle for my occasional recreational use but diesels are better suited to such regular duty.

I just bought my 09 which pulls great already as I have towed a 9500 lb fifth wheel with ease. But I have been pulling a 18 ft utility trailer with mine since i got it with 300 miles and weighs about 6-7000 pounds. Tows like a dream. Dont even feel it. Heck my fifth wheel gets towed around pretty good with it.
