Esso touchless carwash and tow mirrors
Hey all,
I upgraded to factory tow mirrors this summer and have yet to use an Esso touchless carwash like I have in the past. Do I need to fold the mirrors in or does the carwash identify and compensate for it? Anyone with experience?
In the summer I prefer to hand wash on the driveway but winter in Alberta... Not an option!
Thanks and Happy New Year!

There's a name I haven't heard in a few decades, down here they changed the name to Exxon.
Touchless car washes are just that, nothing but water contacts the truck so you shouldn't have to fold them, perhaps watching another vehicle go thru the cycle just to be certain.

You guys are brave. I don't trust those giant over-head pieces of machinery around my truck! I can just imagine one of those spinning brush things crashing through my windshield
Edit: Knowing my luck, this is probably what would happen. Skip to 8:00 on the video
Sorry for the thread-jack lol. But yes, if you are brave enough to enter one of these I would fold in the mirrors just to be on the safe side.

I know the touchless one here in MA, is just one single arm that goes all around the vehicle. If I'm perfectly centered with just my regular mirrors, there's about 6"s on either side.
Honestly, I think tow mirrors would get hit.

Good god fold fold fold! I clear the wash with less than an inch on each side with my standard mirrors. When you say you switched to factory tow mirrors do you mean you went from standards and bought tows and replaced them? Power fold/telescoping, signal, marker, memory, heated??

maybe show up in the evening or not a busy time and bring a tape and measure it....i normally just hit one of the pressure wash places and give it a rinse in the wintertime..
looks ok if you picture the truck having tow mirror...not extended...not an esso, maybe i'll take a trip to town for a video..

I just fold in the drivers side and it works fine.
