Default Engine Swap for future 2009 F-150 FX4 Question

I plan on getting a 2009 F-150 FX4 within 3-4 years and I was wondering if it'd be worth it to swap out the stock engine for the 2.7L Ecoboost engine when they become available?

I don't know. Why don't you buy a 2019 FX4 and put a 2009 5.4 in it? Or better yet, why don't you just deactivate your troll account and pester the Ram groupies.

The reason behind it is I want my F-150 to have great gas mileage and have enough power. Sorry if I seem to be a troll, that isn't my intention.

you would be swapping the engine into a truck that is approx. 1000lbs# heavier negating much of the fuel economy . Plus you would need all the computer's and probably the tranny

LOL put a SuperCharger on the 5.4 and call it good

So then it would be too much of a chore making that kind of a engine swap?

It would be way too costly, unless the 2009 was given to you.

I was interested in an 09 motor swap as well but couldn't get any responses. When my 5.4 quits I will be looking for a 6.2. Will settle for a 5.0 if I have too though. I am still interested to hear anybody's feedback and thoughts on this. I don't care for a 2.7 ecoboost. I want mean nasty V8 power....not from the 5.4

With the 5.0L engine, is it the same engine as in the Mustang and if so, would the boss and cobra jet parts be compatiable for the F-150?
