Engine "skid" plate
How many of you have removed the skid plate that covers the motor?
I talked to the dealership and according to the service manager its just there for sound. I hate how its just held on by a few twist locks and how flimsy it is.
Thoughts?

Mines been off since I put the lift on. No issues, and it's easier to change the oil. Lol

Oh come on now... that is part of the fun... not knowing which hole, corner, or angle oil is going to drip from. it turns a would-be mundane oil change into something special! Why would you take that away?! LOL

Is there any disadvantage from removing it?

probably more of a splash guard than anything else ... as long as you still have the small steel one over your power steering you should be okay
as far as the oil change, someone here posted a tip - put the front tires up on blocks (i use a couple 4x6's) ... makes access easier, and the oil from the filter just goes out the rear funnel. That tip plus the fujimoto valve makes the oil change a breeze (my first was messy when I left it level on the ground)

I would call up the service shop and have them order you a new one.
