Default Engine replacement 4.6

I have a 2010 f150 xlt 4x4.has a 4.6 motor vin 8.trying to figure out what route to go for getting a reman motor.AER is $700 bucks cheaper and uses all oem parts and they claim to have fixed the issues the 4.6 has.powertain says they fix the problems as well like adding more threads for the plugs and high flow melling oil pump etc.just wondering if anyone has any advise thank you in advance

Sounds good to me. The vin 8 is a 4.6 3-V isn't it?

You can tell the difference as quick as you look at it.

Default 4.6 replacement

I haven't heard of Powertrain, I would like to know how they add more threads though. I've been in the machined parts business for 41 years. Don't know how they do that, unless the factory doesn't drill and tap the threads completely thru to the combustion chamber. AER has been in business for 30 something years. Seems that $700 is kind of expensive for tapping some holes deeper and a different oil pump. Can you purchase and install the upgraded oil pump yourself? Good luck!!

Probably thread inserts. Timeserts are the best.

An Ecowhat, lol. Is that a joke. It is a Ford Taurus engine.
