engine rattling noise
On my 2012 F-150 XLT 3.5 liter Flex Fuel, I started having rattling noise coming from the engine when driving in high gear and lower RPM. this noise is not consistent and mostly could be heard in acceleration and up hill. Old cars used to have this noise when the timing was off. I don't know if the timing is still an issue with modern cars but Ford technician didn’t find a problem with timing. He also re-calibrated my transmission software but to no avail. another idea was that the engine mounts are worn and need replacing. so before I spend $700 on engine mounts, does anybody have an idea what could be the problem based on experience?
