Electronic locker disengaging in 4wd?
I ran my truck for the first time yesterday. Put it in 4wd HI and launched. I shifted out of 4wd and around 70 mph, the left rear side started making a banging noise. I ran the truck in 2wd and had no issues, back in 4wd and the same thing happened. I'm thinking it is the locker in the rear trying to release. Any one else had this problem or know of a fix?

Why are you going 70mph in 4WD in the first place...?

It's funny... you ask a question to get answers, and instead you get the @holes who obviously have different interest than you, pointing a finger at you for using YOUR truck the way you choose instead of how they think you should! How about instead of forcing your views and opinions on a guy who's views differ, you answer the question or leave the thread alone!
To the OP, are you engaging the elocker too? Are you sure it's coming from the rear? You shouldn't try to disengage the 4wd while under load (while accelerating) as it won't disengage until the load is taken off (coasting)...trying to do so may be causing the problem. While I disagree with the few fellas above me in the way they point the finger, you should know that you will break parts on the 4wd system by boost launching... I don't discourage it, and I still do it, but I don't do it as often since being in the shop 2 times in 10 months after tearing it up... the system isn't designed for it and won't hold up to it. But, you should be able to use your truck the way you want without having people point at you like you're dumb for using your truck in a way that they choose not to. No guys its not a race car... but it'll beat a lot of them and if we wanted to go slow we would have bought a Chevy!

so what i got from some of the above statements is sure its YOUR truck and you can do what you want, (which i agree with) but if you do, you run a HIGH chance of breaking your truck. some have done it and didn't learn the first time and took their truck in the shop TWICE.
