Default Electric Cutouts

Is any one running electric cutouts?
Every one I find online looks cheap, like it would either leak or break within a few hundred miles.

Trust your first instincts, I have never heard anything good about cutouts.

I bought a QTP and had the resonator cut off and welded the cut-out in its place for $80. It works great and you can open it in increments to desired sound level. The shop that installed it for me said that QTP is a very good brand and that they've done 100's of them. I just wish I had a V8. I just looked at your profile and the 5.0 sounds awesome on you-tube

Don't do it. Dumb on a truck. They will corrode and malfunction and just make obnoxious noise. On a high hp,race car- yes. A hauling and towing vehicle - no. Just makes you all joe dirt like.

What is a cut out? Something to do with exhaust? Let me guess, opens it up before the muffler?

Mostly used by track racers, it dumps the exhaust to the atmosphere right after the headers/exhaust manifolds and/or before the cats. Complete waste of $$ unless your highly modified eg: super charged.
