Default Economy tunes..are they worth the money in savings?

Looking at purchasing a tuner for mainly the economy tune of the 3 custom tunes. Going to be doing a lot of driving and want some real world opinions on if the around $400 for a tuner is worth the money in fuel savings over a year or 2. Tuner users chime in please. This is for the 5.0 V8. Thanks for replies.

Mine weren't. Neither custom tunes or canned tunes did anything for my mileage. But I didn't expect them to either so there wasn't any disappointment.

It all depends on your driving habits; if you get eco tune, but still floor it taking off, it's not going to help. I have a 2010 5.4 screw, 87 Eco time by 5 Star. I can honestly tell you that I have gotten an improvement by about 2 MPG. Again, not babying it, but not driving like a bat out of hell either.

I'm just joking. I'm sitting 20 feet from this guy that started this thread. I'm curious on the economy tunes as well.

What about highway? That's where I want it mostly, when cruising down the highway.

Economy tunes are transmission only... A better performing "engine and transmission tuned" motor will run more effectively and increase efficiency. This is where your real milage savings will come from... So a tow or performance tune will give you better power, which translates into better milage when driven modestly.

This is what I kind of figured. Anyone have actual numbers they have experienced to throw up, along with what the tune is that they have?
