Does Ford now offer the Max Tow on the 5.0? They did not the first couple of years and you had to go with the EB to get it....

I would stick with the Eco because at elevations of 7000 feet the 5.0 towing a 4000lb load would feel like 7000lbs.

4000lbs behind a NA engine at 7000 feet will feel like 7000lbs.

Please please please let's try to avoid an Eb vs 5.0 thread haha. The OP asked about diesel or EB....
If you could justify the added expense of an F250 with a diesel then why not get the diesel, you'll also be able to tow more if the need arises. If not, there is nothing wrong with the EB. And you don't have to worry about how much your towing up hill, it's all about how much your truck can stop safely. As long as your under the rated tow number's the EB will do the job. Everytime.

I drive a 3.5 and tow light boats and a utility trailer for hunting at altitude. Doesn't seem to be any power lost between sea level and 10,000'. Early on tested power at WOT 9000' exiting a 25 mph uphill corner, 10% grade. Every other gas truck I've owned would have slowly built up, this one must of had turbos spooled up, thank God & Ford for traction control or I'd of slid sideways off the road.
