Or, get the real, real, upgrade, and boost the 5.0L. Best of all options for performance, and fuel economy IMO.

Not available in the King Ranch or I would have ordered the 6.2 in my 2014 KR

I went with the 5.0 and love the exhaust note.

The Ecoboost is a fine engine, but I want a V8 in my 50-thousand dollar truck.

agree on teh above "heads/tails" ... both should be good (though my 5.0 has been a pita recently)

I only went with the 5.0 because
1. cost of the EB meant that even IF it gets slightlly better mpg's it would take me about 6 years to break even on fuel costs v. the 5.0
2. I guess i'm old school, I love the sound of an American v8 (and of course an American v-twin)
3. KISS ... less fancy stuff = a good thing, gives me half a chance of trouble shooting if i'm way off the pavement and out of cell coverage

but again, either one should keep you happy - when my 5.0's running good I love it

I have no regrets about getting the 5.0. Especially seeing my coworkers eco's mpg's are at 16/18 routinely.
Then of course there's the intake growl and the occasional tire slip that gets the revs up and she just wants to get me a reckless driving ticket.
I've never had a stock pickup truck make me smile on the pavement, but this one does.
I think after 8 yrs with that 4 speed 5.4 slug, Ford owes me a little joy.

what it really comes down to is this, are you towing all the time? if yes, then get the ecoboost. i you just tow occasionally and mostly haul stuff in the bed then get the 5.0. i have the 5.0 because i dont tow with it. just use the bed for hauling crap and enjoy the exhaust rumble from my flowmaster muffler
