I'd suggest you use the search button, there are hundreds of threads about this very question. I love my 5.0L and glad I have it over the Eco. But others feel the same about there Eco.
It's basically 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

Either will serve you just fine. So heads it's a Eco, tails it's a 5.0.
I have 102K on my 5.0 and am looking at new trucks. Most that are optioned as I would like are Eco's. And since I'm one who picks off the lot, inventory is kind of driving my decision. But, I'm confident that either will do me just fine.

Either is fine, if money isnt a issue get the eco boost not that it is the better of the two but it does make more power and with a few mods is a stout mill.

My '11 had the 5.0 and the '13 has the Ecoboost. The Eco has it all over the 5.0 from zero to 50 mph with the low end torque. The 5.0 is more of a high rpm engine and doesn't really pull untill 40 to 50 mph then it scream's. Towing the Eco feel's like a diesel with it's low end power...fuel mileage is close maybe 1 to 2 mpg in favor of the Eco and that's mostly on a straight hwy run. Both are good engines in my opinion.

One is. Base engine one is an upgrade. Is the upgrade worth the cost of the upgrade is the question.
