The only purpose of this post is for the OP to help justify his decision to buy the 5.0.

Be that as it may, would it scare the crap out of him if he had a tire blow out under the same conditions? How about a complete transmission or engine failure resulting in complete loss of power?

I have had this issue, I feel that mine is fixed at this point, but has our society come down to a bunch of drama queens? maybe some people should learn how to drive?

Wrong. Great engines don't nearly kill people.
Oh give me a break! Any car on the road built yesterday, today or tomorrow has the potential to kill someone.

Mine was built in Feb. 2012, so far have 10k miles with absolutely no issues except tires wearing kinda fast. Since I got it in March, I have personally talked to over a dozen people driving Ecos, none of them have had any engine problems either. Everyone I've talked to loves it.

What really annoys me is people posting things like "Ecoboost almost got me killed!", what would you do if you blew out a tire, torque converter or many other issues that would cause loss of power or handling in the same situation in an F150 other vehicles?

Doesn't mean that this issue does not need to be resolved, but maybe some people need to learn how to drive?
I've had it happen twice and I feel the same way you do. I was quite annoyed and pissed off but at no time did I feel my life was in danger.

Same here! I have several friends with the eco as well as myself. No shutter issues from anyone that I've personally spoken to. I've also spoken to service techs at 3 different dealerships around my area and none have had a single truck brought in with the shutter issue. Oddly enough I live in south Louisiana where high humidity, frequent rain, and dense fog is part of our lives. One would think that this problem would be in higher concentration in coastal climates.

Glad that i haven't had this problem, sorry for those that do. I am proud of my eco and I recommend to others that ask about it.

A lot of immaturity in here....
If it were your truck having the issue, you'd be livid and want the truck fixed or gone ASAP. I know that if/when it happens to me the truck would be traded off, I can't put my kids and wife in a situation like that. The thing that is wrong with this is that it can happen to anyone's truck, just under a specific condition.
I'm not having any of these issues, but I am nervous about it. From what's read the Tsb's weren't correcting the issue , until ford bucked up and put a new IC in them ( am I correct?). I would take a huge loss on my truck with buying new and aftermarket things, but it is my families safety.
I just hope Ford can remedy the issue PERMANENTLY, and people can focus on how ugly the new GM trucks are ( first ford here and still think they're ugly as sin)

I would have been one of the first people to say....9,000 miles, and MY truck runs perfectly.....until 9,095 miles, and I got the first fall its its face situation trying to pull into traffic. Huge cloud of solid white steam out the tailpipe, and a total loss of power. I am thankful that this was a lower speed situation.
It is additionally unfortunate that the new CAC to fix this problem is now on national back order until 02/28/2013 ......THAT makes me more upset than having had it happen....
