Default Ecoboost Stain - Exhaust???

Need all you Einsteins to tell me what this stain is. Ecoboost Screw. 2,300 miles. First time it's happened. Just returned from 1,000 mile non-stop trip. It rained the last 150 miles.

I'm guessing exhaust drainage, cause it isn't oil. You can see from the tire impressions where it is. Any clues?

BTW, it only happened once, and all the spots next to the big spot occured at the same time.

The exhausts on these newer trucks leak the condensation from some of the slip joints. The black stuff you see is most likely from the vehicle running rich. This is normal for a forced induction vehicle from the factory. If you run your finger in the exit of the exhaust pipe you should see the same black ****.

Not my finger...I'll use one of the kids. That's how I knew it wasn't oil.

Yep, that is normal, exhaust soot. Have a chrome exhause tip on tail pipe. It builds up on the opening. Washed my truck this weekend, sprayed water at the tail pipe (not up into it). When the water came running out so did some black soot.

Def some normal soot water coming out of the exhaust pipe but the pattern is strange. Looks like something was dipped into the main water mark then dabbed 4 times next to it. You can tell the smaller water marks are dabbed because of the dark to light pattern of them.

Looks like what would happen if you started the ecoboost then drove off in a slow and sedate manner while it was still in high idle - just the soot from the tailpipe. MAN that thing runs rich lol
