I was bummed about the 26gal tank also. 36gal is an option on the 2012. After talking with other truck owners, I've come to realize that 26gal is an average size tank for a full size truck. Tundra, Ram, Silverado, Sierra, Titan, all have same size tank, some slightly smaller. Good news is there is plenty if room in the 6.5ft bed for a couple of $15-10gal gas cans, when you need it.

Question was there an era when ecoboost came out that the idle and shifting were a bit rough?

That is great news for future EB buyers, for sure! I wonder why it wasn't available in 2011?

I think many 4x4 owners would classify that as a pro, I know I do! I guess two sides to every story, like:

Pro - quiet engine
Con - no V8 grumble
Pro - great torque/towing capability (almost diesel-like)
Con - poor mileage when towing
