If I were to do it again I would get 3/4" expanded metal instead of 1/2".

Total cost = ~$15. Spray painted black now.

Several thousand miles with mine and no issues. Great mileage, never had hesitation or intercooler issues prior either.

I put one on around 200 miles. Makes no sense that ford dosent protect it. I don't believe the hype of over heating. I sounder how many of the ic problems people have is because of damage from no protection.

An intercoolers purpose is not to keep your engine cool so I could not imagine it being a problem. Sure blocking it will reduce efficiency but I don't think it would be noticeable.

I want to cover the hole but I'm saving up to do a billet grill and matching IC hole billet all at once. I think the plastic tank ends would get damaged first.

I`m curious as to the whole lower grill section, I have been thinking of taking those plastic tag plates off, or whatever they are, but they are cosmetic right? and possibly putting a grill as all are talking about, but also having more room down below for extra lights. Has anyone seen those tag plates off, or info on this? Thanks

I failed to mention about putting a grill that would cover the whole lower section, more or less same size as upper grill, and mounting extra lights within the ends of the grill. Any thoughts guys?
