Yes I do like this truck. But it I am worried about relyability. I have owned several brands of trucks but not once did I ever worry about a truck leaving me stranded on the side of the road like this one. Maybe I should just stay off this site all I see are negitive comments.

hahahaha, welcome to the wonderful world of a crappy ford tranny! It will vary on different shifts, and if your lucky like me, you will feel it in the 1-2, 3-4, 3-4, 2-1 shifts. That's the cream of the crop. And guess what, they won't do anything about it.

Same here, very harsh 2-3 shift occasionally. I've heard there is a TSB and they replace some of the shift solenoids. Anyone have input on this?

cart, the only thing I know of is to have the tranny re-programmed to see if it helps. My previous '11 XLT had the occasional hard shift from 2-3. I talked with the Tech at the dealer, and he said he would be happy to tear it down, take a look, and replace the solenoids if I wanted. He said he couldn't promise it would fix the problem though. I decided that since it was so rare, I didn't want to risk getting back a leaky transmission. Good luck, maybe someone that knows of another fix can chime in.

BTW, this was after I had already had the tranny re-programmed for the clunking/slipping issue. Which was fixed with the re-programming.

Mine doesn't shift hard it just makes a groaning type noise in park and as of the last few days I've noticed it when shifting thru 3, 4, 5. These noises are intermitten. I've read on here there is a TSB for this just havent had time do get to the dealer.Hopefully the hard shifting isn't next.
2013 eco fx4 Screw by the way.

I have had the same issues with mine, groaning in park I even sometimes have it in gears 1-3 while driving at low rpm. Also I have a clunk 2-3. And when I engage 4wd.

I asked a dealer near work about it when I went in to check on a cut in a tire side wall. He said that's normal you just shifted into park to fast. What? that's ridiculous!

He also would not honor my esp tire warranty saying the side wall cut was not leaking air, so it is not a problem. I wish I got it in writing incase the tire blows out. Strange because he seemed like he didn't want to service my truck when I answered "if I bought it there" with a no I bought it else where but you are closer to my work. Is this how Ford dealers are?

I have recently noticed the 2-3 shift issue. It stumbles on the shift and then hits hard.

I have just over 4K miles and I have a 5.0, so I don't think this is only on ecos.

As stated get it re-flashed by the dealer. My 2011 also did this and was corrected at no cost.
