Completely stock, no modifications, no towing. I have never gotten above 17 mpg even in flat-as-all get out Houston. And this is not a right foot problem either. I drive very conservatively now that I'm older.

That is the same as my average. But I have 34" MTs, 3.73's and do about 60% in town driving and 40% highway.

Thanks. It's helpful to have a range of data points to compare to.
Are there any aftermarket tunes that have proved to outperform stock in terms of MPG? I'd love to see Ford offer multiple accessible through that slick new 8" touch screen. Option Modes like:
1. Fuel Economy (commuting w/o a load)
2. Sport
3. Light Load
4. Heavy Load
My guess is that Ford is putting their best foot forward in terms of fuel economy. However, with different maps, they could mitigate the disconnect between stated versus actual fuel economy - particularly for those who are right-foot. If nothing else, this could help the perception of EcoBoost, or perhaps help those heavy-footed drivers "see" the impact of their foot.
What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?

I get 14.5-15 city. However, highway at 65mph I swear I get 26-27. Remember I live in Miami, fl. all flat. Also, I have 3.15 gears which are highway.

Getting combined 16 after only 200 miles on my new FX4, pretty windy in Nebraska lately, but my truck is also brand new. I expect that I'll begin to see better mileage after 1,000 and if not, it's a truck and it's to be expected!
