Question ECOBOOST Mileage-Real World Pole

I'm considering trading my 5.4 for a new Ecoboost. The thing though is that I'm swamped with reading thread over thread about different mileages. Just post to the poll so us undecided Ecoboost buyers have something to go off of! Thanks!!!

If you dont get to caught up in the mileage game, it wont get worse than your 5.4, while not even being in the same ballpark power wise.

I can usually average 20+ on the highway with my 4x4 Lariat. And combined is usually 18mpg to 19mpg

Thanks for the posts and poll answers so far! I have a 2010 5.4 4x4 with 35s and I avg 12, the main reason I'm trading is to go up in MPGs! I just don't wanna make a mistake.

That same setup on a EB might get ya a couple extra mpg's. Its night and day power difference, but if you dont care about power, be hard to justify the trade for 2 mpg

Thats the thing, new truck will receive no lift, maybe leveling, but thats a good way down the road. Most of my money will be going to mpg mods, only thing I have planned at this point in brush guard, tool box, take the steps off, and lights. Thats all at the current moment.

I'm in KC... 26000 on the truck. If I drive highway @70, 17-19 mpg. Slow down on 2 lane highways at 55-65, I can get 20-24. People like to discount the power saying its just mpg... I was one of them...it's hard to discount the power in town, merging/passing. The EB power has been a safety bonus for me as I've had 8-10 times that some *%#&@)( driver puts me in a potentially compromising position....hit the gas and get out of there. Stoplight to stoplight, I can very between 12-18 depend how many times you have to go stop/go. Hope this helps.
