Ecoboost Intercooler cover???
I noticed that my Eboost has a flap over the top 1-2" of the intercooler blocking some of its flow? Whats up with that? Wouldnt it make sense to remove that to increase the efficiency?

Ya search for ecoboost intercooler and see what you come up with. A bunch of crap threads with people having issues.
Hence i started my own. The search function does not exactly work as good as you think. Especially if you dont know what to ask it. Thats why we have forums. To help each other out. Not to only talk about new threads....

Ask the dealer. Perhaps some adjustments made to intercooler airflow in certain areas with high humidity or extreme cold. Worst thing you can do is tear it off. Let us know if dealership has a clue.

The flap I believe you are referring to is the one they started adding to trucks built around May(?) of 2012. Then they began adding it to trucks brought in for condensation issues. Ford thought by reducing airflow thru that section of the CAC that it would reduce the condensation buildup and fix the problems associated with it. It didn't fix it but may have helped slightly. As far as I know they are still putting it on the '13's. They put one on mine about a month ago, along with a new CAC, in accordance with TSB 12-10-19.
Removing it will probably not give you a noticeable gain.
