Default Passenger speaker issue

So about a year ago I upgraded to the kicker plug and play sub, amp, and upgraded door speakers. After a few months the passenger front kicker speaker starting randomly cutting out. But it would return to normal if I turned the volume up. It happened maybe 10 times in a 6 month period so I had kicker warranty it and I got a new one at no charge.

Everything has been fine for about another 6 months, but I noticed it did the same thing 2 times today. Randomly stop working until the volume is turned up and then it's back to normal.

Wondering if anyone has seen this issue before? Thanks

Yeah I have this issue with my stock speakers. Will randomly get static or lose volume, but as soon as i turn the volume up it returns to normal. I think a wire might be loose or something. Very annoying...

Had this same issue with kicker door speakers. I recently took the door panel off and found out the plastic connector that connects the speaker to the factory speaker wire harness was bad and I just cut that out and soldered the connections together. It seems to work just fine now and haven't had any problems so far.

Exclamation

gwallers - When I turn on Stereo I don't have the issue. Only in surround mode. But kinda defeats the reason for having it.
*heads-up*...

Anyone have any resolution for the headliner speaker crackling? It happens on every phone call I make in the car. I am a traveling salesman so I am on the phone all day in the car and im about to go crazy. Also dealing with super harsh shifting in the powerboost as well. Found an TSB for that and taking it at the end of this month to be repaired.

None of us know what you are talking about. Quick fix for any speaker noise annoyance is unplug it.

FYI I replaced the door speakers with two way speakers and it all works great. So I assume the door speaker has something to do with the tweeter. I returned the tweeter and am glad it’s fixed!
